Ok is it me or did ESPN just shit on MJ?

I know this was supposed to showcase his will to win but for some reason when i watched I couldn't keep from saying to myself "Damn! MJ was crazy!". Maybe im overreacting but I think that ESPN just made Mike look like a sociopath?
