Black women walking...

I can sympathize with much of the topics that are discussed in this clip, but as a black male who doesn't spend his time harassing random women on the street I feel as though there are a few misconceptions and or responsibilities that are not being shared.
I am fully aware of the excessiveness and crudeness of harassment and how it can make someone feel, especially in group situations, But these women speak as though that only Black Women face this scrutiny as if the demographics are so far apart. Whether white, latino, asian, or black there will always be a battle of the sexes. Im sure a group of huddled men will gawk at a beautiful woman in rio the same way they would at a gorgeous girl in milan. Its not a racial thing at all yet this clip has women basing their opinions solely on personal observation an thats pretty lame to me. Also it was almost as if the tape was insinuating that every moving black man is out searching for the next black girl to harass. ALSO LAME! Anyway watch this for yourself, and bear in mind I am not saying its some feminist movement propaganda but its important to look at this with a objective eye because there seems to be an heir of inconsistency and lack of personal responsibility in this 8 min clip.

Cory Gunz- Heartless remix

Tha boy nice...

YOOOO This is soooo sad...

Ok let me be frank and give you a disclaimer... I do not agree with this video but I do see its point. This woman was a Barack Obama recruiter and she took time out of her oh so high paying job to address the crazy new york street preachers. She basically reveals some deep seeded hatred and it something to see. Oh and im sorry for the horrible spelling in the video these guys are idiots!

YAH!!! TRICK!!! YAH!!!

If yall missed this last spring well here is the re-up. The story is about a ATL chick who they now call "Soulja Girl" who goes off on the Marta (subway) Train on an elderly woman. The whole thing was caught on tape and it was basically the equivalent of a Boondocks "Nigga Moment" except it was real. Its a good laugh but it sure as hell reinforces some negative stereotypes...

"Anybody wanna see Young Jeezy kill George Bush!?" HAHA I know its on your top ten for ignorance... Well anyway the Old lady sued her ass! But out of the goodness of her heart the charges were dropped, but not before her business was put out on the street. Apparently she was Bi-Polar and never took her medication. I guess that makes it a lil less funny (not really) but anyway here is footage of the court proceedings.

Is it me or are madd players ODing this year in the NBA???

Exhibit A: Lebron Dunks on Toronto 7 TIMES!!!

Exhibit B: Melo Scores more in the 3rd than most people do in entire games

Exhibit C: B Roy hits a dagger of a three ball to win against the Rockets in OT

EXhibit D: Wade puts up 43 on Phoenix with style

Those are just a few examples of great moments this year in the league but IDK for some reason I feel like the NBA has received a real boost, the games seem to have more defensive plays and players seem to be really getting into it this year. Its could just be me but I've never watched this many regular season games this early with this much satisfaction.

SOD response

My take
Ok its no secret that I think Charles Hamilton is nice, being a lover of music as an art I can appreciate a true artist. Not to say that if you dislike Charles that you don't appreciate art because we all have our own preferences. But when we start making comparisons on these two artist and the topic of discussion is music I think there is a problem, a real problem. Now I am no Soulja Boy hater, I've been quoted sticking up for the young man on several occasions especially during the Ice-T situation but this is just stupid to me. No offense Charles has a point, Young Hip Hop artist have no place anymore and cannot thrive. Lets be real it doesn't matter what your lyrical content states anymore, just the packaging... Soulja Boy can make you dance with his beats, I hope its not his lyrics, but I would be lying if I said a Tell em track made me think. Reality is some of yall don't want to think... simple as that. "Imma call this verse hurts, cus its the truth." Seriously many of us don't want want to decipher, we live in a microwave society that just wants to shake its ass and drink some liquor. Your not wrong for that, you just shouldn't embrace people who are trying so hard to destroy the fabric of musical creativity just to make a profit or exploit the stupidity of the masses. I mean Soulja boy is funny to me, really funny, but not in the way you would think. I mean take for instance his sneaker, why would you make an effigy of yourself on the bottom of your show? I might buy the shoe just to stomp all over that lil nigga. Idk its just silly to me. With that being said, if you think charles is some ass then just do me a favor and listen to this track and bear in mind this nigga made this when he was 18... If this doesn't make you at least think or at least bite ya tongue on hatin on this nigga than guess we just on another wavelength.

Video of the confession

Really tho? Olympic Pole dancing? HAHA

Give me a break! I know undercover stripper training when I see it!

Is Blake Griffin the next Michael Beasley?

Last night I was watching the Davidson vs. Oklahoma game on ESPN and I couldn't help but realize two very blatant things! Stephen Curry is OD, And Blake Griffin might be the next Michael Beasley... After watching Griffin put up 25 pts, 21 reb, shooting 60% from the floor, and in some cases running the floor from the 4 spot I just sat back and said "what can you do against that!?" Seriously I really don't know what could've been done? Usually you watch a game and say stuff like well if this guy had done that and this guy had done that, but last night I really cant put a finger on anything Davidson did wrong, i guess except box out... Steph put up 44 in dramatic fashion so in a way at least offensively he was the true star last night but for some reason those 21 boards from Griffin just spoke volumes. I don't want people to think Im judging him off this one game because in all honesty the kid is consistent but I can honestly say whole heartedly that Blake Griffin won that game, a game Oklahoma would've undoubtably lost to Curry and company if he didn't grab 21 boards. That to me cannot be overlooked...

So the Beasley comparison comes along in terms of style of play, now do not get me wrong there are some differences in their game as in Beasley has more range in his game and more finesse. But Griffin has a Dwight Howardish dominance in his game and it translates well in transition and anywhere near the low post. Anyway its early in the season so I guess we should all just watch and see how this plays out. I think Blake will have as much impact if not more than Beasley did last year which is saying a lot because that means Oklahoma needs to go deep in the tournament in march. I guess only time will tell... Here are some highlights for you all to decipher yourself.

Blake Griffin Highlights

As a bonus let me be first to say I think Blake might have more bounce than Mike, here is why:

Kanye freestyle in Singapore

He bodies this! "I even got gangstan N's wearing tight jeans"!

History! 7 day later!

OK OK I know its been a week but I had to chill because since we are talking about history in the fullest sense of the word I didn't want to get ahead of myself and talk extra reckless. Well now its been a week and I'm level headed again and can say with a smile " MY PRESIDENT IS BLACK, MY LAMBO'S BLUE!" LOL I had to do it... But on a more serious note, last tuesday will be a day that resides in my heart forever because I saw a true depiction of American democracy and how wonderful it really can be. This was a beacon of hope to the world that America is still very much the land of opportunity and gives anyone with the credentials and education the ability to be anything their heart desires. But thats not all that happened Nov. 4th 2008, oh no not at all. There is an ironic sense of intense pride who's irony stems only from the fact that 40 years ago this was not only an impossibility but would be considered an offense. This is a resounding statement to the true progress of our society (as a whole) because for once we can say that we made our decision not on tradition, not on comfort, but on the ability to lead and bring people together. Do you understand that we have a Black President-elect? I don't think people realize just how "crazy" that sounds... What if Iran had a Jewish president? Or China have a Mongolian descendant as its president ( or should I say dictator)? Would you not say wow that country has really made some change? Well that is the severity of what has occurred in this great nation. I know its deeper than that, I understand that its not all about that, but I think its only fair that people acknowledge the fact that America has elected a man who regardless his ethnicity his physical characteristics deemed him African American ( even tho technically he is in the actual most way you could possibly be lol). That is extremely refreshing, at least it should be, but for some reason its not... Not at all. You see the real story of race was not in the color of either candidates skin, but in the race they ran. I want to be the first to declare that the race was so ugly and engaging that it almost ruined this historical moment for me. Even still I am constantly seeing sarcastic quips and negativity that was foreign to me in 04. Mind you I am in Lynchburg VA, a town that went McCain 80% to 20%. Now i wont say this town as a whole was racist in least, I would rather deem this town to be more of a two issue evangelical town, and I honestly dare anyone to prove me other wise, because I have combed this town up and down asking questions and people were happy to tell me they voted for McCain on gay marriage and abortion and nothing more. Im not labeling them right or wrong im just giving you the setting of what im going through. You see people from this town can say some pretty remarkable things... An I mean profound, prophetic, and even psychic statements. You would think that they knew Barack his entire life, or that they received text messages from the future telling them how crazy things became. I don't want to get into the mud slinging just know that people say pretty much every crazy thing you could think of out here from racial epitaphs and mocking to statements like if you vote for Obama than you are not a Christian. So you can only imagine how quiet Lynchburg was on Nov. 4th. It almost messed it all up for me. ALMOST! But then I realized there were two ways to take this negativity, either revert it back and gloat in an arrogant egotistical annoying way or urge these very profound and self professed Christians to be that they confess to be and pray! I chose the latter and had a blast exercising it. How so you ask? Too many Facebook arguments to count, face to face confrontations in every setting from computer labs to class rooms, and lastly by just letting people know that its time to bring people together and end the divisiveness that reared its ugly head this year. So I looked at my predicament in a different light, You see I didn't vote for Obama because of his race or because I wanted to make history, I voted for him because I weighed all the options and was still at a stalemate but once I saw how disgusting certain supporters were and how there was no shame or limit to what they would do, say, or slander the decision was easy. You wont catch me standing along side hate, thats a negative. People attempt to justify their position but fail to condemn the disgusting nature of the supporters, where reality and past events show that the minute the shoe was on the other foot McCain supporters would have a field day. I say this because when ever we bring it into a discussion im always told its not that many people and that its just ignorance and it gets played down so much it makes me sick, where God forbid if Obama supporters were shouting racial epitaphs and going off Fox news would never stop covering it. LOL ok ok i vented, Im just saying. But yea I guess thats why im here, I wont lie 96% is OD! So there is no debating people on the fact that many black people voted for Obama solely on a race basis and the fact that its was in a sense "COOL" to Vote for Obama. And that is just wrong on soooo many levels, but so is voting against him for those reasons too and trust me there were many people going to the polls with that on their minds. But my point in saying that is that neither of those people describe me in the least. You see I have done the research, I have educated myself in all aspects of our govt. and this election to the point that my dump truck of knowledge has begun to tip over. So I guess there is a reason why I would end up in such a polarized place, because in many regard i have realized that I was a lone voice of reason to many people out here. Not to say I was truly alone, but as in lone i meant on issues, I sometimes felt like when I would bring up Gordon G. Liddy or the ACORN key note that my points would go way over peoples head. But I was cool with that and I guess I can just know that we are all put where we are in life for a reason and thats what keeps this event from being ruined in my eyes. So I want to say proudly God Bless America and I hope we can come together and be as strong as we ever were! Lets just be happy as a nation, thankful as people, and proud that history has been made. It is what it is and thats the TRUTH!

Oh and peep the Hov joint History... So relevant! LOL ( oh and this is for my boy Merrick and the dude that spent 2 hours arguing about whether Jay-z was Christian or not all i have to say is so what man, if you so worried go save him!)

Facebook can point out Narcissists

Facebook profiles can tell you more than just peoples' birthdays and what movies they like — they can reveal the self-adoring, a new study suggests.

Researchers at the University of Georgia gave personality questionnaires to nearly 130 Facebook users and analyzed the content of their online profiles. They also had untrained observers look at the profiles and rate how narcissistic, or excessively egotistical, the owners of the profiles were.

The results of the study are detailed in the October issue of the journal Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin.

The researchers found that the number of friends and wall posts (messages left by the owner of the profile or friends) that a person had on their profile correlated with how narcissistic they were. Study leader Laura Buffardi, a Ph.D. student in psychology, said this is similar to how narcissists behave in the real world, forming numerous but shallow relationships with others.

Narcissistic Facebook users were also more likely to have glamorous, self-promoting pictures for their main profile photo, while others tended to use snapshots, the study found. The untrained observers also noted the differences in photos and amount of social interaction.

"We found that people who are narcissistic use Facebook in a self-promoting way that can be identified by others," Buffardi said.

Narcissism hampers a person's ability to form healthy, long-term relationships, said study co-author W. Keith Campbell.

"Narcissists might initially be seen as charming, but they end up using people for their own advantage," Campbell said. "They hurt the people around them and they hurt themselves in the long run."

In the past, research has found that personal Web pages are more popular among narcissists, but this doesn't mean that all Facebook users are narcissists.

"Nearly all of our students use Facebook, and it seems to be a normal part of people's social interactions," Campbell said. "It just turns out that narcissists are using Facebook the same way they use their other relationships — for self-promotion with an emphasis on quantity over quality."

An Email I received on "White Privilege"

I already know many people will somehow completely disagree with this note but keep in mind many of you that do probably have not experienced or come to terms with many of the realities and blatant atrocities that resonate in our society today... Its really sad that the social climate is slowly regressing back into a state where bringing up such issues would be deemed taboo. Because I have no intention of biting my tongue on this issue. Now bear in mind I am fully aware of the pros and cons of both our candidates and running mates. Probably more on both than most, since I live in my laptop and I post like a mad man. So please spare the comments about such and such signing this or not voting that, because I already know, I've been known, I also know about the insane contradictions and bold face lies from the other side. Instead of just telling me about typical politics I urge any defectors or people who care enough to enlighten some one with some truth to focus on the immense contradictions and the illumination of yet again still deep seeded prejudice. Because its there, lets face it, its the elephant in the room that we dance around but every now and then he steals peanuts with his trunk from the concession stand... ex. Obama Waffles, the curious george Obama 08 T-shirts selling over 100,000 in GA, a Mccain Supporter slipping on Fox news saying "We don't need to cater to African Americans to win the election", or one of my personal favorites the "Terrorist Fist Jab" LOL! Its around us and we wish it wasn't but it is. Funny thing is instead of it being like a bottomless pit with no way to climb out, its more like a seesaw where one day you see hope and feel accomplishment, then the next you feel despair and disgust over the inner thoughts that run through the minds of Americans. An I do mean ALL AMERICANS! Case an point I am going to show you the email I received and I pray that you can read it with a critical yet realistic eye. Its getting old you guys, especially going to LU, its not cool when its one way for you and another for me... Anyways Im sure ill get backlash for this, but before you think about coming at me for expressing something that even "you" in your heart know plays a part today... Ask yourself, Are you ready? Because I am!

This is Your Nation on White Privilege

By Tim Wise

For those who still can't grasp the concept of white privilege, or who are constantly looking for some easy-to-understand examples of it, perhaps this list will help.

White privilege is when you can get pregnant at seventeen like Bristol Palin and everyone is quick to insist that your life and that of your family is a personal matter, and that no one has a right to judge you or your parents, because 'every family has challenges,' even as black and Latino families with similar 'challenges' are regularly typified as irresponsible, pathological and arbiters of social decay.

White privilege is when you can call yourself a 'fuckin' redneck,' like Bristol Palin's boyfriend does, and talk about how if anyone messes with you, you'll 'kick their fuckin' ass,' and talk about how you like to 'shoot shit' for fun, and still be viewed as a responsible, all-American boy (and a great son-in-law to be) rather than a thug.

White privilege is when you can attend four different colleges in six years like Sarah Palin did (one of which you basically failed out of, then returned to after making up some coursework at a community college), and no one questions your intelligence or commitment to achievement, whereas a person of color who did this would be viewed as unfit for college, and probably someone who only got in in the first place because of affirmative action.

White privilege is when you can claim that being mayor of a town smaller than most medium-sized colleges, and then Governor of a state with about the same number of people as the lower fifth of the island of Manhattan, makes you ready to potentially be president, and people don't all piss on themselves with laughter, while being a black U.S. Senator, two-term state Senator, and constitutional law scholar, means you're 'untested.'

White privilege is being able to say that you support the words 'under God' in the pledge of allegiance because 'if it was good enough for the founding fathers, it's good enough for me,' and not be immediately disqualified from holding office--since, after all, the pledge was written in the late 1800s and the 'under God' part wasn't added until the 1950s--while believing that reading accused criminals and terrorists their rights (because, ya know, the Constitution, which you used to teach at a prestigious law school requires it), is a dangerous and silly idea only supported by mushy liberals.

White privilege is being able to be a gun enthusiast and not make people immediately scared of you.

White privilege is being able to have a husband who was a member of an extremist political party that wants your state to secede from the Union, and whose motto was 'Alaska first,' and no one questions your patriotism or that of your family, while if you're black and your spouse merely fails to come to a 9/11 memorial so she can be home with her kids on the first day of school, people immediately think she's being disrespectful.

White privilege is being able to make fun of community organizers and the work they do--like, among other things, fight for the right of women to vote, or for civil rights, or the 8-hour workday, or an end to child labor--and people think you're being pithy and tough, but if you merely question the experience of a small town mayor and 18-month governor with no foreign policy expertise beyond a class she took in college--you're somehow being mean, or even sexist.

White privilege is being able to convince white women who don't even agree with you on any substantive issue to vote for you and your running mate anyway, because all of a sudden your presence on the ticket has inspired confidence in these same white women, and made them give your party a 'second look.'

White privilege is being able to fire people who didn't support your political campaigns and not be accused of abusing your power or being a typical politician who engages in favoritism, while being black and merely knowing some folks from the old-line political machines in Chicago means you must be corrupt.

White privilege is being able to attend churches over the years whose pastors say that people who voted for John Kerry or merely criticize George W. Bush are going to hell, and that the U.S. is an explicitly Christian nation and the job of Christians is to bring Christian theological principles into government, and who bring in speakers who say the conflict in the Middle East is God's punishment on Jews for rejecting Jesus, and everyone can still think you're just a good church-going Christian, but if you're black and friends with a black pastor who has noted (as have Colin Powell and the U.S. Department of Defense) that terrorist attacks are often the result of U.S. foreign policy and who talks about the history of racism and its effect on black people, you're an extremist who probably hates America.

White privilege is not knowing what the Bush Doctrine is when asked by a reporter, and then people get angry at the reporter for asking you such a 'trick question,' while being black and merely refusing to give one-word answers to the queries of Bill O'Reilly means you're dodging the question, or trying to seem overly intellectual and nuanced.

White privilege is being able to claim your experience as a POW has anything at all to do with your fitness for president, while being black and experiencing racism is, as Sarah Palin has referred to it a 'light' burden.

And finally, white privilege is the only thing that could possibly allow someone to become president when he has voted with George W. Bush 90 percent of the time, even as unemployment is skyrocketing, people are losing their homes, inflation is rising, and the U.S. is increasingly isolated from world opinion, just because white voters aren't sure about that whole 'change' thing. Ya know, it's just too vague and ill-defined, unlike, say, four more years of the same, which is very concrete and certain…

White privilege is, in short, the problem.

You better tell em!

I know a lot of people may disagree but the fact of the matter is, the information shared to this congregation is all true... Sadly enough far to many people cant see that... Anyway the pastor bodies this speach!
